M.SC. IN HOLISTIC AND PSYCHOLOCICAL COUNSELLING

St Aloysius College, Mangalore offers two year's course in M.Sc. Holistic and Psychological counselling. The first of its kind in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

How can people cope better with day to day problems like anxiety, stress, frustrations, conflicts,psychosomatic illness strained interpersonal relationships, matrital problems, school related problems, problems at work place etc which hamf their intellectural, social and emotional growth? The answer line in having trained psychological counselors at all levels Here's an opportunity for students to be trained in holistic and psychological counselling.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE COURSE:
a) students will be intensely trained in counselling skills
b) trained to integrate counselling theories into practice
c) trained to use psychological tests
d) on the job training will be given
e) a job oriented course with high placement opportunities in schools, colleges, hospitals, corporate sector etc.

The course is designed in such a way that it introduces the students to the basic content in psychology, development and social psychology, psychopathology, skills in counselling, theories, assessment, human resource management, cl and adolescent guidance, educational couselling. The two year course is spread over four semesters which includes the as well as practical.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students with B.A/ B.Sc Psychology, BSW/B.ED gradualtes or any other discipline with psychology as one of the subjects at the under graduate level, or any graduate with a diploma in counselling.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES:

On completion of this course students will be absorbed in schools, colleges, hospitals, and in the corporate sector as counselors.
