M.A. IN APPLIED ECONOMICS

St Aloysius College, Mangalore offers two year’s course in M. A. APPLIED ECONOMICS with specialization in Financial Economics or International Economics. The course is designed to reflect new developments in the discipline of economics and management and is closely oriented towards the professional employment market in India and abroad. The course is designed to provide academic competence in the areas of both theoretical and applied economics, enhancing the professional objectives of students.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
To prepare students for a wide range of professional careers in Banking and Financial Services, NGOs and Development Institutions, Government Services, Research and Consulting Firms, Foreign Trade Sector etc.
To equip students with knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of economics and business, which will help them to become responsible leaders in their chosen fields.
To establish a foundation for Ph. D studies for students who plan to continue their education and research.
To lay the foundation for teaching for students who plan to enter the profession of teaching.

COURSE CONTENT:

The duration 0f M.A. in Applied Economics shall be 4 semesters (2 years) of 1 8 weeks each including instructions and examinations.
