Creativity and curiosity was at it speak as thousands of students thronged St Aloysius College campus, where a mega exhibition was inaugurated on Friday. St Aloysius Institutions organized the exhibition as part of its 125th anniversary celebrations.
Parts of the Administrative block, the highs school, the IT-Centre and the Xavier Block for Search & research were packed with visitors who included students from high schools and colleges from all over the district The three-day event features collection of coins, stamps, antiques, flowers, medicinal plants, books , models prepared by primary to College students. The special attraction of the events the display artifacts from the Dharmathala museum, Alva’s institution in Moodabidri and other organizations.

The fist year MCA students have organized IT-Vision, an exhibition of Information Technology and it's applications in day to day lives.

The grand entrance modeled after a "Guthuda mane" is a major hit among the visitors.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Dharmathala dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade exhorted the younger generation to judiciously utilize the abundance of knowledge accessible in the present era of information technology. He stressed the need of introspection with regard to the system of education and opening the eyes of the children not just to inculcate scientific temperament but also to imbibe social values. Referring to the service rendered by educational institutions, Heggde mentioned that apart from the pivotal role of moulding students, the institutions cannot forget their social commitment. The alumni of any institution should project its commitment, he added.

Lauding the efforts of the Jesuit fathers for their services to society, he said that celebrations of this kind is a tribute to the accomplishments that has been recorded during the passage of time.

It is befitting that institution is organizing a wide array of constructive activities to mark the 125 years of its existence, instead of unproductive formal gatherings, he added. The inauguration of the function was rather unique with alumni association president N G Mohan 'switching on' the traditional lamp, truly a fusion of culture and modernity.
Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Francis Serrao, principals of the college, pre-university college and high schools among others were present on the occasion.
