MBA Activities
    Every Aloysian is expected to be excellent intellectually and should become competent person in the field of his choice. But St Aloysius College, in keeping with the motto , "Lucet et Ardet" which means "shines and burns", would like every student to be conscientious, compassionate and committed to the less fortunate brethern of our country.

    In order to help every Aloysian to achieve this end, the Institute encourages student participation in various :

  • curricular
  • co-curricular
  • extra- curricular activities.

     The Management Club organizes a lot of programmes during the course of the year. PRAGATHI, a symposium on development, MANASAMANTHANA, Paper Presentation Competition, SANJEEVINI, the Blood Donation Camp are the activities held during the first semester. At the end of the first semester, the MBA students spend about a week in rural areas of Mundgod and Haliyal interacting with the rural folk during the RURAL EXPOSURE PROGRAMME.

    During the second semester, the Management Club conducts VERVE, the National Level Management fest. Organizing such a programme trains our students to be EVENT MANAGERS and improve their skills of team work, communication and leadership. MILAN is the Rural Marketing Fair organized by the Marketing students, which attracts a lot of rural artisans to come and display their products. KAIZEN is the leadership programme conducted by our students to the under- graduate students of various colleges around. This also gives an opportunity to the under grad students to know about the course work, infra-structure and the facilities offered by AIMIT.

    During the course of studies, the course work is supplemented by many ADD ON courses and programmes. Every semester, AIMIT B-school offers training in computers. Starting from the use of word processors, spreadsheet, power point presentation to advanced EXCEL for managers, Database Management and Research Tools like SPSS, which are not offered even by many of the leading B-Schools, are part of the training of the MBA students of AIMIT. Entrepreneurial workshop, Investment Management, Innovation Management are some of the add on programmes which make our students excel and give an edge over others.

Gavel Club:

    To enhance the quality of leadership and to train our MBA students to be excellent in public speaking we have introduced internationally famous GAVEL CLUB. It is affiliated to the Toastmasters International which is a movement devoted to making effective oral communication a reality. This club creates an opportunity for the others to provide constructive feedback to help another to improve. Gavel Club sessions are conducted twice in a week.. During the meetings students deliver prepared and impromptu speeches. Thanks to Mr Max Rasquinha for initiating our students into this club and for sponsoring. Our past students have vouched that the training they got in Gavel Club has really made a lot of difference when it came to job interviews.

Rural Exposure:

    The Institute organizes Outreach programmes for students. To give students an exposure to rural life, to develop and share knowledge about the simple rural life and to develop specific project in rural area. A group 117 students were sent to Mundgod and Hangal. Overall there were 20 groups consisting of 5-6 members who stayed different villages. At the end of the third semester students are taken to rural places. Every student is expected to participate in such programmes. The programme also involves visit and working in orphanages and homes for the destitute and aging. It is followed by reflection. Classes on Business Ethics are also part of the schedule.

Investment Management:

    The Institute conducted Investment Management for the outgoing MBA students. The programme was conducted for 3 days.
